Role of the Manager
Overview
The Role of the Manager is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to be an effective manager. It introduces participants to the POLC model of management and focuses on the manager’s role in planning, organising, leading and controlling. The course explores the processes and approaches a manager can take to ensure their team is successful.
Objectives
By the end of the course, trainees will be able to:
- Recognise the different types of management planning and the benefits of each
- Explain the role of organising at both organisational and individual job level
- Describe different leadership styles as well as the different ways of communicating with and motivating staff
- Identify the three steps of controlling from a management perspective.
