De-escalating Covid-19 Conflict: Challenging Colleagues about Safety Rules
Course Overview
In the COVID-19 era, many businesses have introduced rules to keep their employees and customers safe in the workplace, such as one-way systems, queues for entry, mandatory mask-wearing, and new service and collection processes.
As a result, employees occasionally find themselves in the position of challenging colleagues who are not following the rules, and asking them to comply.
Situations like this can quickly escalate into conflicts. In some cases, fear of infection makes those involved angry or fearful. In others, deeply-held political beliefs cause feelings to run high. These are new challenges for most workers, and many will need training in how to handle them.
This animated video course shows learners how to challenge non-compliant colleagues in a way that avoids conflict. The course also equips learners to de-escalate confrontational situations, and stay safe when de-escalation doesn’t work.
