Giving and Receiving Feedback
Course Overview
Feedback isn’t just the job of managers. Giving and receiving constructive feedback is important for everyone in the workplace. It helps to improve performance levels, make processes more efficient, and keep colleagues motivated.
Knowing how to give feedback is a crucial skill. If done wrong, giving feedback can cause upset and offence. It’s also important to learn how to receive feedback. Colleagues who struggle to receive feedback can become defensive or fail to take in what is said.
In this course, we look at how all colleagues can give and receive feedback in the right way.
Firstly, we’ll look at how to give feedback in a way that’s constructive. We look at how to make sure the feedback is specific and serves a purpose.
We then look at some of the problems that can arise when giving feedback, including how to balance positive and negative feedback, and what to do if someone becomes upset.
Finally, we look at how to receive feedback in the right way. Instead of responding defensively, we show the learner how to be open-minded when listening and how to move forward afterwards.
This microlearning course is an animated video, with audio narration and a multiple-choice post-assessment.
