Workplace Violence Prevention: Recognising, Managing, and Responding to Threats

Course Overview

In this course, we will focus on preventing workplace violence by equipping you with the skills to recognise, manage, and respond to potential threats. By the end of the course, you will be able to define workplace violence and identify warning signs, as well as understand the connection between environment, personality, and behaviour.

You will learn to develop a process for anger management and enhance your communication skills to help defuse tense situations. Additionally, the course will cover creating risk assessments and emergency plans, ensuring you know the appropriate steps to take during a violent incident. You will also explore the roles of a threat review team and their coordination of investigations.

This course is approximately 30 minutes and is separated into 4 modules, the last of which is a quiz in which you must achieve a score of 80% or more to pass.
