Fostering Mental Health in the USA Workplace: An Introductory Course

Course Overview

In this course, we will explore workplace mental health, from reducing stress to creating a supportive environment for employees experiencing poor mental health. By the end of this course, participants will be able to define mental health and mental illness, identify the groups at risk of experiencing poor mental health, recognise the signs of poor mental health, describe how the workplace can impact mental health, explain how employers can provide support to employees experiencing work-related stress, and outline the role of a Mental Health First Aider.

Through interactive learning activities and real-world case studies, participants will gain practical insights and strategies for promoting mental well-being in the workplace and providing effective support to those in need.

This course is approximately 30 minutes and is separated into 4 modules, the last of which is a quiz in which you must achieve a score of 80% or more to pass.

  • Identify common mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety
  • Recognize the potential impact that the workplace can have on mental health
  • Define what a healthy workplace looks like, and identify key components of a healthy workplace
