SEND
Overview
This CPD-certified, level-2 e-learning course is suitable for anyone working with children with SEND in their work or voluntary activities. The course includes optional voiceover recorded by a professional actor and culminates with an assessment.
This course is specifically designed to give learners a better understanding of what SEND is, the barriers that children with SEND face, the professional roles played in supporting children with SEND in your setting, and how to provide enabling and inclusive environments.

- Introduction - What SEND is, the categories of disabilities, and the correct language to use.
- Barriers - Looking at different barriers that children with SEND face including physical, social and communication barriers, and how to remove or reduce these barriers through integration and inclusion.
- Safeguarding - The types of abuse, how children with SEND are more vulnerable to abuse, and how the signs of abuse may present differently.
- Environments - How to create enabling and inclusive environments within your setting, and some of the tools and methods that can support children with SEND with daily tasks and communication,
- Roles - the roles that are played when supporting a child with SEND, and further ways to support children with SEND in your setting.
