Overview

This course introduces the spectrum of autism and how autism affects people in different ways. This course has been developed with subject matter experts from Accomplish: a specialist, outcome focused provider of support for people with Mental Health needs, Learning Disabilities, Autism and Acquired Brain Injuries.

Objectives

This training will enable learners to:

• Identify problems that individuals with an autistic spectrum condition may have in social interaction and relationships
• Recognise individual abilities, needs, strengths, preferences and interests
• Identify reasons why individuals with an autistic spectrum condition may exhibit certain behaviours
• List ways of ensuring that support provided is consistent, both within own approach and with that of others
