Typhoid Fever
Course Overview
This short course will provide you with a brief overview of Typhoid Fever and is suitable for any non-specialist healthcare professional that deals with travellers that are potentially exposed to the infection.
Typhoid fever, sometimes known an enteric fever, is a systemic infection caused by the gram-negative bacillus Salmonella entrica serovar (S.typhi). In this course you will learn what typhoid fever is, how it is transmitted, and how to recognise and gage the severity of its symptoms. The course also covers treatment and explains the two typhoid vaccinations available in the UK.
