Numeracy Level 2 - Probability

Course Overview

By the end of this lesson you will be able to identify the range of possible outcomes from combined events through probability, using diagrams or tables and use tables and diagrams to show outcomes of combined events.

In the weather forecast, sports and gaming strategies, buying or selling insurance or online shopping, online games, determining blood groups and analysing political strategies probability plays a vital role in day to day life. This lesson reviews how to identify the range of possible outcomes of combined events through probability and record the information using diagrams or tables. As well as, how to understand how to use tree diagrams and tables to show the possible outcomes of combined events. The use of keywords like probability, outcomes, combined events, tree diagrams, matrix and fractions methods and relative frequency allow the learner to fully understand the topic of probability.

Learners actively participate in topics such as probability, representing probability, probability and simplifying, matrix, tree and fraction examples, and relative frequency. With the help of knowledge check questions and a short assessment at the end. This lesson gives the learner the knowledge and confidence to achieve the lesson objectives.
