Fraud Prevention

Overview

From September 2025, organisations must comply with the new Failure to Prevent Fraud offence. This course will introduce you to the new legislation, show you what might lead to criminal liability, and help you understand fraud prevention measures. You’ll be better prepared to prevent fraud within your organisation and take action if you suspect fraud.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to:

  • Explain what the ‘Failure to prevent fraud’ offence means and who it applies to so you can remain compliant
  • Identify examples of fraud so you can minimise the legal risk for your organisation
  • Describe fraud prevention measures and why they matter, to understand your role in preventing fraud

Why should I take this course

The UK government’s new Failure to Prevent Fraud offence puts greater responsibility on organisations to combat fraud. All employees play a role in fraud prevention. You need to be able to spot and report fraudulent activities that could expose your organisation to prosecution. This course will explain the new offence, show you different examples of fraud, and help you better understand your role in fraud prevention.
