This lesson will help you understand ratios using scale and proportion. It will also teach you how to determine best value for money.

The topic of ratio, scale and value is used in daily activities often without realising it is being used to make mathematical calculations. Ratio, scale and value occur frequently in daily life and help to simplify many of our interactions by putting numbers into perspective.

This lesson provides learners with an understanding of ratios, an understanding of using scale and proportion and using ratios to work out the best value for money. The learners will focus on key topics starting with defining what ratio, scale and value mean before moving on to ratio examples, scale and proportion examples, and value examples. Learners will develop a working understanding of ratio, scale and value and further reinforce their knowledge in the subject utilising knowledge check questions throughout and an assessment at the end of the lesson.
