Overview

This course is designed to introduce the topic of substance misuse.

Objectives

This training will enable learners to:

• Assess service users’ "capacity" when applying the key principles of the Mental Capacity Act (Northern Ireland) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
• Recognise how these may be relevant to service users and how they may impact on your own practice
• Follow the assessment process required for assessing mental capacity
• Outline the supporting framework and roles of others specific to these
