  • Identify the dangers posed by electricity
  • Recognise how to comply with the law using a risk assessment approach
  • Recognise an appropriate testing regime
  • Identify appropriate training and maintenance

About the Course

The most common cause of workplace fires is electrical equipment. Electrical faults cause a large proportion of non-residential fires, often with serious consequences. Fires that start in this way often begin unexpectedly and can spread to their surroundings with alarming speed.

At even 50 volts, electricity can cause serious injuries. It makes sense for everyone to be trained in electrical safety!

Electrical safety is a very wide topic; the breadth of electrical safety issues can include electricity supply, pylons, substations, overhead cables, underground (buried) electrical services/cables, electrical installations in workplaces and electrical equipment.
