Overview

Law set out by LOLER is designed to make sure any equipment used is safe for use. Failure to comply with LOLER regulations can not only result in a fine but has the potential to cause serious injury or even death due to work equipment not being fit for use.

If working with lifting equipment, it is vital to understand what safety checks and procedures to follow in order to keep yourself and other safe when at work.

Objectives

By the end of the training, the learner will be able to:

• Identify the key requirements of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) regulations
• Explain the key risks associated with using lifting equipment and how to manage them?
• Recognise key duties and responsibilities when working with equipment
• Take action to maintain the safety of yourself and others.
