Confined Spaces

Overview

Confined spaces have the potential to be extremely dangerous due to the nature of their restricted entry and exit points and lack of ventilation. It is vital to be prepared and equipped to be able to spot any risks and implement safety procedures where necessary .in order to keep yourself and other workers safe.

This training explores what defines a confined space and the key risks involved, how to manage the risks whilst working safely and what to do in an emergency whilst following the legal requirements from The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997?and other associated regulations.

Objectives

By the end of the training, the learner will be able to:

  • Recognise what a confined space is
  • Identify the dangers of working in a confined space?
  • Ensure safe working in a confined space??
  • Recognise the emergency procedures and controls in place when in a confined space?
  • Recognise legislation and requirements of working in a confined space
