Workplace Communication: Active Listening & Understanding the Message

Course Overview

If you think that listening just means politely paying attention and nodding appropriately, then get ready to think again!

In fact, there are levels of listening that range from the utterly awful, which can be annoying or even insulting, to the super-productive, where conversation is mutually beneficial and pleasurable.  And by using the final level -- Active Listening -- your conversations will be productive, enjoyable and fulfilling.

We also deal with an under-rated, and often ignored, step in the process, which is how to make sure that everyone actually understands what’s being said!

Course Objectives:

After taking this module, and with a little practice, you'll be able to:

  • Recognize and avoid bad practice when listening
  • Use Active Listening to make your conversations positive and motivational
