Employers have a legal responsibility to train staff on health and safety when they start employment even if they have completed previous training and then on an ongoing basis at least annually. There are many risk factors in Hospitality, and this module offers you a benchmark of base awareness from which you can add specific procedures as required during job training.
General Safety Aware for Operational Teams looks at key safety factors across multi departments However, we recognise that each department has its own unique safe working practices and we provide tailored versions of this module specifically for Housekeeping, Front Office and Administration, Health Club and Spa, Greenkeeping and Grounds, and Maintenance.
Topics in this module include: developing team members understanding of their H&S responsibilities and how other people are involved along with how risk assessments are used. Key safe working practices such as preventing slipping and tripping, managing spills, handling electrical equipment, following the broken glass procedure, understanding the implications of lone working, as well as identifying key risks in F&B, Housekeeping and Front Office and Administration areas including handling knives and working safely with computers. Safe appearance is discussed and the importance of washing hands, when, where and how. Finally, the module outlines protocols for reporting accidents, the importance of documenting near misses and the appropriate responses to accidents including the location of first aid supplies.

At the end of the course, learners complete a 22-question quiz in the same style as the learning activities (drag-and-drop, single choice, multiple choice). The pass mark is 80%, with unlimited retakes available. Certificates are available instantly upon passing.
Completing training doesn’t always mean that action and change happens! Learners can download our unique actions plans from within the module and complete. A series of questions asks learners to apply the information in the module to their workplace to identify the specific procedures they should follow and identify areas where they need further information or training. Managers can use the action plans to discuss with individuals and organise additional information and training to ensure all the team are confident with the Safety procedures.
