Fire Warden Awareness

Overview

Fire! It goes without saying, but fire is both useful and necessary. Of course, fire’s also dangerous, and so we need to train people to control it, y’know, to help keep everyone safe. Maybe you didn’t want to be a firefighter growing up. That’s ok. It takes a special type of hero to put on that uniform. But you can still play your part in fire safety, wherever you work.

A fire warden is someone that helps mitigate risk around the workplace. This course is an overview of what their duties involve, and they include understanding roles, firefighting equipment, managing hazards to prevent and control hazards and understanding key legislation. You’ll also learn about the fire triangle and the effects of smoke.

  • Identify different types of fire hazard and dangers so they can be mitigated
  • Understand the fire triangle and be away of how to break it

  • Recognise the danger that smoke poses to your health

Why Should I take this course?

Ok, so being a fire warden isn’t quite as thrilling as being a firefighter, but doing this role does make you a bit of a hero. You’ll be responsible for the lives of your colleagues, both when that alarm sounds, and doing your everyday duties.
