Course Overview

Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets allow us to work remotely, especially when on the move, giving us the ability to access files and produce documents without the need for a larger laptop.

As mobile devices have become smarter and more sophisticated, they have become more of a target for cybercriminals. If you don’t take precautions when using your device, you're putting confidential information and data at risk.

In this course, we show you the simple steps you can take to keep your mobile device secure.

Firstly, you’ll learn how to use locks to secure your device, from using the most secure form of home-screen log-in, to keeping individual apps safe.

Then we’ll look at how to avoid the threats posed by viruses and hackers and show you how to safely connect to the internet when in public places. You’ll then learn what information it is safe to store on your mobile device and alternative ways to keep your data secure.

Finally, we look at what to do to protect private information if your device is stolen or lost.

The course is an animated video with audio narration and a multiple-choice post assessment.
