Unconscious Bias
Course Overview
We all expect to be treated fairly at work, and want to treat others the same, but one of the things that can prevent this is unconscious bias.
Throughout our lives, we absorb ideas that we can quickly use to make assumptions about people. It’s part of how our brain works. However, these ideas can include false beliefs and stereotypes about different groups of people.
We’re not aware of these unconscious biases, but they can lead us to treat other people unfairly. In the workplace, these biases harm the diversity of the workforce, leading to people being less engaged or even being excluded.
In this course, we’ll look at how to tackle unconscious bias.
Firstly, we’ll look at how to identify unconscious biases and become aware of them. Next, we’ll look at the impact these biases can have if we don’t act to overcome them. Finally, we look at what the learner can do to tackle their own biases.
This microlearning course is an animated video, with audio narration and a multiple-choice post-assessment.
