Communication at Work: Effective Emails
Course Overview
A lot of work is done via email, so it’s important to know how to write them effectively. When an email is poorly written, it can cause misunderstandings. Without other cues such as body language or facial expressions, it’s easy for messages to be taken in the wrong way. This can lead to confusion, stress, and sometimes even the wrong course of action being taken. Clear, helpful emails not only save you and your reader time, they show off your communication skills.
This course covers the basics of email, while also providing key tips on how to write emails that get the job done.
First, we look at the importance of using the CC and BCC fields to make sure the email is only sent to the right people.
Then we look at how to effectively title an email so that the recipients will be able to see straight away what the message is about. The course then goes on to provide tips for how to organise your thoughts so that the email can be understood quickly and clearly.
Finally, we provide you with writing tips so that you can get the tone and style of the email right. The wrong style can risk causing offence, but the right style will impress clients.
This microlearning course is an animated video, with audio narration and a multiple-choice post-assessment.
