- Recognise the characteristics of Legionella
- Identify the legal responsibilities of an employer in controlling Legionella
- Explain how to reduce the risk of Legionnaires’ disease
- Summarise how lead affects water safety
About the Course
When it comes to Legionella control, a lack of training, sub-standard communication and poor water safety management are contributing factors in outbreaks of Legionnaire’s disease.
Those responsible for Legionella risk assessment and implementing a risk management policy for Legionella must be suitably trained in the appropriate control measures.
Employers have a duty of care to understand and manage Legionella risks and must comply with health and safety regulations on water safety.
