Overview

This e-learning bundle is comprised of two e-learing modules:

  • Safeguarding: emotional abuse
  • Safeguarding: phsyical abuse

Safeguarding: emotional abuse

Emotional abuse of children is the most common form of abuse. However, without visible signs such as bruising and injury or disclosure from the child or parent it is particularly difficult to prove this form of abuse. This course is intended for everyone who works with or has contact with children, young people and their families.

The course contains additional resource materials, useful links and a refresher guide. It will enable you to: 

  • Learn the definition of Emotional Abuse
  • Know who emotionally abuses children
  • Know the signs and symptoms of Emotional Abuse
  • Learn the points to consider where Emotional Abuse is suspected

People who physically abuse children can be anyone who comes into contact with a child. They can be teachers, next door neighbours or a member of the family. In fact, a person who abuses a child is often closely related to the child: it is very rarely a stranger. This course is intended for everyone who works with or has contact with children, young people and their families.
