Overview

Emotional intelligence helps us to know ourselves better and develop meaningful and constructive relationships with others. The topic allows us to improve our understanding of social interactions and to respond to our thoughts and feelings in a considered way. Ultimately, it helps us to achieve our goals and communicate more effectively. In this course, we will introduce you to some of the core concepts and strategies involved in becoming a more emotionally intelligent individual, with the aim of helping you flourish in your personal life and at work. We will cover the four key pillars of emotional intelligence, which are self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management. First, we will cover the value of knowing our own thought patterns and behaviours. We’ll discover what we can control and examine where we may need to improve. We’ll move on to emotional regulation and how to establish the different ways we might react in various situations. We’ll then look at how crucial it is to understand social situations and our communication with others.
