Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a common condition and a significant cause of mortality and long-term disability. VTE is a major public health issue, and it has been suggested that it results in up to 60,000 deaths per year in the UK, although accurate data is difficult to acquire.
VTE is preventable and this course will provide an overview of the signs and symptoms of VTE, risk factors, prevention, diagnosis and treatment options available.
