Bed Rails

Overview

Bed rails should only be fitted following an assessment and as a last resort. This course will explain the complexities surrounding the use of bed rails and aims to provide the learner with an overview of using bed rails and the knowledge and understanding to be able to work to best practice.

Objectives

This training will enable learners to:

• Identify best practice in the safe use of bed rails
• List the potential risks associated with bed rails
• Identify how to reduce risks with appropriate bed rail set up
