Welfare Facilities

Overview

When folks are at work, they rely on their employer to provide the facilities they need to be safe and well. We’re talking about things like toilets, places to get changed and clean spaces to eat or have a drink during a break. These are classed as welfare facilities.

You must ensure you’re providing adequate and well-maintained welfare facilities for your employees, if it’s reasonably possible to do so. That way you won’t end up with hungry, dirty staff who are all desperate for the loo and you won’t break any laws either.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to:

  • Define an employer’s responsibilities regarding welfare facilities
  • Differentiate the different categories of welfare facilities
  • Identify how to ensure that each category is appropriately provided for

Why Should I take this course?

If you run a business, it’s important to know what welfare provisions you’re required to provide. Even if you only have a few staff, this course will help you to understand your responsibilities, so you can stay on the right side of the law and make sure your employees are happy and healthy at work.
