Legionella Awareness

Overview

The aim of this course is to provide the learner with a basic understanding and knowledge of legionella. Legionella bacteria can cause Legionnaires disease, which can be fatal. This course focuses on building hot and cold water systems and will identify the bacteria, the infection risk and the possible control measures that could be put in place.

Objectives

This training will enable learners to:

• Identify what causes Legionnaires disease and how it is spread
• Discover the symptoms of Legionnaires disease
• Recognise your role in minimising risk
